Hi, I'm Amy.


My passion is helping the unnoticed. The people that don’t fit into the societal norm of what American life must look like. The ones who’s childhood, identity, or way of thinking always seems to be different from others.

As a Cognitive-Holistic Therapist who has been working in the mental health field since 2015, I understand the importance of viewing my clients as a whole individuals and not as their identity, sexual orientation, trauma, or life circumstances. I focus on all 8 dimensions of wellness (emotional, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, environmental, spiritual/mindset) for a holistic approach. I combine this with evidenced-based practices; such as CPT for Trauma and Parts Work for Identify/Self-exploration.  

I'm a direct and action-focused therapist who uses talking as a tool and not as a full framework for therapy.

I'm also a proud multi-racial female therapist, and a dog mom, and I'm recently married to my beautiful wife in 2023.

I tailor the therapeutic process to each client. Often, I use a holistic approach to healing that can incorporate traditional talk therapy with other modalities including CPT.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) looks at the impact a traumatic event has had on one’s life and helps examine and change unhelpful thoughts and feelings related to the event, one’s self, others, and the world. An important part of treatment is addressing ways of thinking that might keep an individual “stuck” and get in the way of recovery from symptoms of PTSD and other problems.

The three goals of CPT are:

• Improve your understanding about PTSD
• Examine the impact of the trauma on thoughts and feelings
• Decrease avoidance and emotional numbing

Redefine


• Learn skills to evaluate thinking
• Consider alternative viewpoints of the trauma, oneself and the world.

• Reduce feelings of anxiety, anger, guilt and shame
